Public Confession
Heavenly Father, how good it is to be in Your presence and hear of Your greatness and abundant mercy. We look to You for the pardon of all our sins and the return of the joy of our salvation.
You know our sins well, O God. Each one is an offense to You, the One Who gave us life. Please help us to be more burdened by our sin so that we might have a deeper appreciation for our redemption.
Today we ask You to forgive us for being untruthful, ungrateful, and uncompassionate. Forgive us for opening our hearts to corrupting influences rather than spending time in Your Word and with Your people.
Help us to give closer attention to our conduct in the days to come. Cause us to seek Your kingdom for Your glory and the glory of our Savior.
Words of Assurance 1 John 5:19, 20
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

*Doxology No. 731
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
*Declaring Our Faith Westminster Confession (Communion of Saints)
What is the nature of our communion with Jesus Christ?
All saints, that are united to Jesus Christ their Head, by His Spirit, and by faith, have fellowship with Him in His grace, sufferings, death, resurrection, and glory.
What is the nature of our communion with one another?
Being united to one another in love, we have communion in each other’s gifts and graces, and are obliged to the performance of such duties, public and private, as do conduce to our mutual good, both in the inward and outward man.
Pastoral Prayer
*Responsive Reading Proverbs 3:1-14
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
For length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce;
So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.
My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe His reproof, for whom the Lord loves He reproves,
Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding.
For her profit is better than the profit of silver and her gain better than fine gold.
