The Lord’s Day

  Prelude

  Apostolic Greeting

*Call to Worship                                                              Psalm 93

The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice, the floods lift up their pounding waves. More than the sounds of many waters, than the mighty breakers of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty. Your testimonies are fully confirmed; holiness befits Your house, O Lord, forevermore.

*Gloria Patri                                                                        No. 734

Glory be to the Father,

And to the Son,

And to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning,

Is now, and ever shall be,

World without end. Amen, Amen.

*Prayer of Invocation

*Hymn               God of Gods, We Sound His Praises          No. 23

  Public Confession

How glad we are to be known by You, O God!

We have peace and hope, and our souls are at rest.

You have given to us a Savior,

And in Him, we have been rescued from darkness and death.

As Your redeemed, we acknowledge our call to holiness,

And we acknowledge that we often stumble in our efforts.

Please forgive us for sins we have committed deliberately.

Forgive us for knowing what is right, but choosing what is wrong.

Please forgive us for sins we have committed by neglecting our duty.

Forgive us for failing to love our neighbors as ourselves.

  Words of Assurance                                              Romans 6:4-7

We have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.

*Doxology                                                                            No. 731

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host:

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

*Declaring Our Faith         Westminster Confession (Repentance)

Is repentance by the grace of God?

Repentance unto life is an evangelical grace, the doctrine whereof is to be preached by every minister of the Gospel, as well as that of faith in Christ.

What is repentance?

Repentance occurs when a sinner, out of the sight and sense not only of the danger, but also of the filthiness and odiousness of his sins, as contrary to the holy nature, and righteous law of God, and upon the apprehension of His mercy in Christ to such as are penitent, so grieves for and hates his sins as to turn from them all unto God, purposing and endeavoring to walk with Him in all the ways of His commandments.

  Pastoral Prayer

*Responsive Reading                                                     Psalm 148

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens;

Praise Him in the heights!

Praise Him, all His angels;

Praise Him, all His hosts!

Praise Him, sun and moon;

Praise Him, all stars of light!

Praise Him, highest heavens, and the waters that are above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.

He has also established them forever and ever;

He has made a decree which will not pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth, sea monsters and all deeps;

Fire and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling His word;

Mountains and all hills; fruit trees and all cedars;

Beasts and all cattle; creeping things and winged fowl;

Kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth;

Both young men and virgins; old men and children.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted;

His glory is above earth and heaven.

And He has lifted up a horn for His people,

Praise for all His godly ones;

Even for the sons of Israel, a people near to Him.

Praise the Lord!
